2008 Toyota Sequoia

Not much is know about 2008 Toyota Sequoia as of now. What we know is that future Toyota Sequoia will be the biggest vehicle ever by Toyota due to its belief that bigger is better when it comes to full size SUVs.
2008 Toyota Sequoia will be built on same platform as 2007 Toyota Tundra. Dimensions for the suv are for sure going to be much bigger then the present model. The car is most likely to get both 4.7-liter and 5.7-liter V8 engine with either 5 or 6 speed transmission as in its Tundra.
Sequoia will match Chevrolet Tahoe and new Ford Expedition in its size, passenger capacity, tow ratings and horsepower. So here is another monster gas guzzler from the makers of best hybrid cars.
With the rising gas prices it is unlikely that biggie 2008 Sequoia Toyota will be successful.

Yes, much larger and one of 38 vehicles that qualify for the “investment tax credit” for corps. Vehicle w/6,000 + lbs GVW, body on frame and 6 ft of space behind the front seats, buy one and take $25,000 of your tax bill (plus 1/5th depreciation) for the year of aqusition, this is not a deduction , rather a credit. Thats why we see these monsters all over our roads, our government(you and I) subsidizes them!
Toyota I am Ashamed that is the most uglist suv you have come out with.
Suggesting that the 2008 Sequoia won’t be successful is funny. For the family guy with 4 or 5 kids (like me) getting more space in a Sequoia would be great. I am tired of the Suburban/Yukon option and Ford does not have a clue in this space.
We have had two Sequoias and our only complaint is that we need more room.
Bring on the bigger 2008 Sequoia!
Toyota should stun its critics by making the new Sequoia the first huge Hybrid SUV. It’s possible!
grown up tundra
Excellent Article! I hope to see more hybrid cars in the future
Will the 2008 offer all the bells and whistles that GM offers in their SUV’s:
Power liftgate, rain sensing wipers, rear sensors and backup camera, power folding 2nd row seat, 20 inch rims, onstar, ipod plug?
If they do I will buy one and around $50K. If they do not offer these options I think I will buy a fully loaded Tahoe instead for $45K and spend the $5K savings on gas.
this wont be toyota’s largest vehicle. in the 50′s and 60′s toyota made a all wheel drive tandam dual rear wheeled 2 1/2 ton military vehicle. and in the 50′s through the ninties they had what some would refer to as a brush truck like the fire dept have, and in the last decade they have made the hino line of mid to heavy truck line. in the ninties they made the mega cruiser the very hummer looking vehicle for the japaneese and alstralian police forces. it sat four people wide in the second row! come on guys keep-up!
when will 2008 sequoia will be reliece?
what features do 2008 sequoia have?
I think there’s always a place in the market even more so for a vehicle like this one,
Big family, big boat , horse trailer , camping.
I’ve had suburbans and now a 6.0 diesle excursion, and nothing but disappointment.
Neither ford nor chevrolet adress problems until a couple of years after knowing the problems.
Ford and chevrolet are both hiding from problems.
Toyota adresses them right a way
Matt
the sequoia fog light needed to be bigger to go with the head light
The 2008 sequoia while even bigger than the current model will be more fuel efficient in both the 4.7 liter and 5.7 liter engines.
From the photo, I think I’m seeing a Dodge product! I simply love everthing about my 2002 Toyota Sequia and would highly consider buying the 2008. So please don’t make it look like a Dodge product (pure yuck) or else I wont!
I am waiting, hurry up!!!!!!!
I have had two sequoias and would never drive anything else. They are the best things that Toyota ever made.
I’ll take the 1st TRD version whenever it comes off the assembly line!
What th ehell is this article talking about? the 2008 sequoia is fuel efficient for its class of suvs. It i sbigger and better car than even the mdsize x5
MOre room for more people is a great motto for toyota.
I have a friend who is on the 2008 design team. 4 wheel independent suspension, 5.7 L V8. More power. He told me he rode in one in japan….said it was awsome…..
man the new 08 sequoia is going to be the bomb. I have a 1998 tahoe and a 2007 suburban but seeing this new sequoia brother oh brother it looks like the all new tundra great switch toyota that’ll kick ass
We test drove the 2008 sequoia a week ago. It was awesome! My husband was surprised at its comfortable room and superb ride. It also has a great turning ratio, doesn’t feel large when driving it, and great reclining/sliding seats! Should come with a mathcing warranty like Chevy/GMC.
With a reputation like Toyota, who needs warranty? Chevy has to warranty their product or no one would buy them.
We have had more than our share of Toyotas- all 3 we have now have >200k on them and are still kicking. My mom is approaching 150k on her 2000 Tundra and hasn’t had ANY problems with it; my dad’s 1997 Tacoma? 200k and just a few tune ups, maybe a timing chain… tires…
Warranties are great but what good is it if you don’t use it?
Gotta love those Yotas
It’s the middle of January, still haven’t seen one on the road here in the NY/NJ area. Are they in the showrooms yet?
Hmmmmmmmm..why wouldn’t TOYOTA bring this to Middle East and creat a Big Bang………
I wlso wish for a AWD with 4WD capabilities!! Anyone who drove an AWD on the streets would tell you the big difference it makes (though more gas consumption), and the peace of mind it creats noting the added safety factor! At least as an option!
Also, as an option the crawl option just as you have it with the Land Cruiser, ha?
I drove the Toyota Sequoia 2008 2 days ago and actually the ride was very nice for a big car. People think the Sequoia is a gas guzzler, but actually it’s not. Because my 2006 Acura MDX get around 16 mpg and I need to use Super unleaded. But the Sequoia get around 15-16 mpg and you can use regular unleaded gas. So actually for a big SUV like the Sequoia, it’s pretty good.
I have the new Sequoia in 4×4 and its great! You should all get one. While I think the platinum would be nice, it think its way to heavy for off road use, but thats just me. You should all drive the best of the bigs.
I purchased a 2008 Sequoia in January 2009. Recently made a road trip to Illinois from Virginia. Total cost to get there was around $97.00, great job toyota on the fuel ecomony.
