2011 Volvo V60

Volvo V60

The stories with meek and square shaped Volvos, which were supposed to take the family from home to the mountain resorts or from the seaside back home, are as out-of-date as the stories with Santa Claus. The new V60 represents that cross on the t’s and that dot on the i’s which the Swedish have tried to put in the upgraded design of the cars they have been making for a few years now. And just like how Mercedes has the Brabus and the BMW has Alpina, it was time for a tuner to come up for Volvo.

We have already seen what Heico Sportive can make out of the Volvo V70, so we weren’t worried that they wouldn’t manage the break lines which arise from the middle class sedan, for a V60. Heico Sportive is that kind of discrete tuner which makes a difference under the car’s bonnet. But it also creates the exterior in a way that makes you think is some kind ashamed and scared about what it had done with the engine. So, there are no ailerons or spoilers looking like they want to take a bite from the pedestrians in 2011 Volvo V60. We only have rims with widths of 18 or 20 inches, a few carryovers, a double evacuation and some badges.

The car, which can be admired in this period at the tuning salon from Essen, has another point of interest. This point of interest doesn’t addresses to our close-up view, but to all the other senses we have. The guys at Heico have putted all their weapons in the game, for the 2.0 turbo version which has received a plus of 47 HP. Also, the T6 engine has reached a total power of 330 HP and a 360 Nm torque. For now, these are the only versions available, but the T3, T4 and T5 engines are next on the tuning list. And no, there’s no way you can go with any of these cars to a picnic!

The most powerful version of Volvo V60 2011 will be equipped with a T6 – 3.0 liters engine which develops 304 HP and a torque of 440 Nm. The most efficient version will come with a 1.6 liters D DRIVEe engine which develops 115 HP and a 270 Nm torque.

When it comes to safety, the new 2011 Volvo V60 is the first model to be equipped with the Advanced Stability Control system. Also, it comes in standard version, equipped with the systems Corner Traction Control, Pedestrian Detection, City Safety and a new Infotainment system.
