Saab Aero X Concept Car
Saab Aero X concept car is a vehicle that has kept us waiting for the past five years now. When the vehicle was first unveiled back in 2006, we knew that the Saab is going to steal the styling for the cars to come later. That was regardless of whether or not the vehicle hits the production line.
In 2006, the concept really stole the light at Geneva Auto Show. It was voted the ‘Best in the Show’. To be honest the car really deserves it. Even of it was reveled today without any additional features, it would have earned the same respect and appreciation. It is 2011, however, and this is the year we are hearing speculations about possible production of Saab Aero X. How true that is, only time is will tell. Right now all we can offer is a tour of what you might be getting in case it really happens.
Outrageous Design
Some people say it is the best looking Saab ever, but we say it is the most outrageously designed car of all time. What makes it so interesting is the cockpit canopy styled doors that are connected to the windscreen. Of course, there is more than just aesthetics to it. The doors allow for easy entrance and exit plus better vision.
With exterior made entirely of carbon fiber, Saab Aero X concept is a two-seater sports car with spacious and equally futuristic cabin. The beauty of this Saab is not only its futuristic doors but also its amazing styling cues that give it a personality of its own.
Talking about the cabin, there are no gauges or buttons to clutter the interior. In fact, you will find an ultramodern display on ‘ClearZones’ with 3D image. LED technology is used to light up both the exterior and the interior of Saab Aero X concept car.
Cutting Edge Performance
Impressed by the design? Well, hold your jaws yet. A car enthusiast knows where the real deal lies – under the hood. So this sporty two-seater features a twinturbo V6. The engine churns out a good 400 Hp out of 100% bio-ethanol fuel. Saab Aero X concept car is an all wheel drive. Whether or not the speculated production model keeps the doors, it will definitely keep the engine of the concept.
About the drivetrain, the concept features a seven speed manual tranny, race car driver’s true delight! The car can easily reach 0 to 160 in 4.9s. Moreover, it is tuned to limit the top speed to 155 mph.
The Question!
It has been more than five years since the unveiling and no curtains remain to be raised now. The only question that remains to be answered is whether the concept really going to be produced anytime sooner. From how well it was received on the very first day to the way it has sustained that popularity, we really think GM should look into this matter. So, let’s just wait for the official word.
