2011 VW Beetle Concept Car
From a design right out of Adolf Hitler’s imagination to the sleek and sexy revival of the 1990s, the Volkswagen Beetle is a car that has lived up to its brand’s name, a people’s car. It is undoubtedly one of the most beloved cars around the world. It still holds the record for longest-running and most-manufactured automobile of a single design platform.
It was in 1998 that the Beetle got revamped with new styling and a front fitted engine. The new beetle really shocked the world. The way this cute bubbly Volkswagen changed in to a sexy and seductive Beetle is really exemplary for other brands that keep ruining their legendary line ups through lackluster experimentation.
Then it was in 2011 that VW again shocked everyone with their new Beetle concept. The celebrated Beetle once again got a new makeover and a performance boost. The bottom-line is that beetle is definitely going to lose that stigma of being the ultimate chick car now. Let’s find out all we know.
What 2011 VW Beetle Concept Car looks like
No matter how many face lifts and makeovers it goes through, a Beetle will always look like a Beetle. This time the new concept stays closer to the original bulky and curvy beetle rather than the sleeker and meaner new beetle. So, its true, curves are going to be back this time. However, the windshield gets a little upright and the roofline is now a tad bit flatter.
The car gains a good 3.5 inches in length. The cargo area also gets bigger and passengers will hopefully be getting roomier cabins with comfortable head and leg room. Overall, the look this time is more masculine and aggressive than what we have seen in the past
What’s inside the 2011 VW Beetle Concept Car
The new Beetle concept was expected to be an all electric eco-friendly beetle. However, it has now been revealed that the new beetle will be coming with the choice of four engines. However, you will have to opt for the one available for your region. So get ready to see a Beetle with a 1.2 liter twin charger fuel Stratified Injection TSI gasoline engine producing 105 horsepower or a 1.4 liter TSI producing 160 hp or even better a 2.0 liter TSI capable of 200 hp.
One diesel engine is also on offer with its 1.6 liter BlueMotion technology harnessing 195 hp. The diesel engine is not only expected to offer better mileage but also low CO2 emission i.e. around 112 g/km.
