Chrysler 200C EV Concept Car
Apparently, Detroit has got the touch of Midas for the automobile Industry. Probably, that is why Chrysler, despite facing a lot of ups and downs for the last few decades, still manages to be one of the most beloved auto-brands in the world. Chrysler’s vehicles such as Jeep and Viper have an unsurpassed and unforgettable legacy. Despite many economical setbacks, Chrysler kept on making technologically advanced vehicles and continued their research on electric cars. However, Chrysler shocked everyone by introducing the Chrysler 200C EV Concept Car at the 2009 Detroit Motor Show. Since that day, we are all waiting for this sporty sedan. Read on to find out why.
However, the EV is based on Chrysler’s own rear-wheel-drive LX platform, it looks considerably different from any other Chrysler we have seen so far. Rather than the hallmark aggressive look of previous Chryslers, the 200C EV Concept carries a more sophisticated yet mysterious appeal –think of some Italian mob boss from the twenties. We must admit, the front fascia is quit impressive and tells a lot about the car’s aerodynamic capabilities. Yet, most cars which manage to pull out an impressive front usually end up being ridiculed for their horrible rear designs. Chrysler 200C EV Concept is not one of them fortunately.
Chrysler 200C EV features a comfortable interior, but a few things might sweep you off your feet. Do they want us to pay extra to get a dashboard in this car? Well, that panoramic screen is pretty much the whole thing. It offers an interesting touch screen interface that you can use to navigate your spaceship through our planet. Futuristic! 200C EV Concept Car allows complete Smartphone connectivity and features the next generation infotainment system. Once you get over the sudden panic, you can relax in the extremely comfy seats with heating and cooling systems.
Chrysler 200C EV Concept Car’s performance largely remains a secret, yet we do know that there will be an ENVI EV extended range Powertrain. If the car ever reaches production, it will most probably be released with an option of rear wheel or front wheel drive. Rumors of V6 are also pretty hot, but honestly speaking a V8 seems more probable for the size and look of this Chrysler. Whichever the case, we know the powertrain is going to be the saving grace if nothing else.
American consumers are quite unhappy with Chrysler’s previous attempt with sedans, take Sebring for instance. However, it seems like Chrysler 200C EV Concept Car is here to make up for what was lacking in those sedans. Of course, good looks and a futuristic interior will be the key to reaching expecting sales, yet we are pretty positive that Chrysler is not going to take any chances with the performance as well. So, ultimately this can be the car that can bring Chrysler back from the ashes. Let’s just hope so!
