MINI Cooper RocketMan Concept Car

Also known as Mr. Bean’s car, Mini always seemed like a car right out of the cartoon world-probably, because of its cute and tiny appearance. When the MINI Cooper RocketMan Concept was revealed this year in Geneva Autoshow, it became apparent that the manufacturers have decided to, still, remain in that cartoon world. The only difference is the change of genre from kid cartoons to Science fiction. Nonetheless, MINI Cooper RocketMan Concept managed to take our breath away yet again, but in a completely new way.
The Looks
We can term MINI RocketMan as the evil technology-obsessed twin of the original MINI. Jokes apart, RocketMan Concept looks like a future high-tech descendant of the current Mini. The size has deliberately been scaled down and a lot of styling has been added. The RocketMan gets a light weight carbon frame construction and borrows the cool dual-hinged doors from the classic Mini. Blending the past with the future, this is definitely one of the best makeover of Mini we have seen. The concept Mini also flaunts 18 inch wheels and an aluminum trim strip on the wheel rim. Giving it a surprised/overwhelmed look, the round high-output LED lights still carry the same old innocence of the good old classic Mini. Finally, feature you can’t miss is the glass sunroof and a Union Jack etched on it.
Interior
For some reason, we can’t resist the temptation of starting off with the looks. MINI Cooper RocketMan Concept main feature, however, is what’s inside the cabin. Despite it’s scaled down size, MINI Cooper RocketMan Concept is one of the most spacious and comfortable vehicle in its class. It smartly converse the space by utilizing the three plus one seating arrangement. All the components maintain the luxury feel of European brands. This feel is further enhanced by feature such as navigation system, a steering wheel mounted joystick and a to-the-point infotainment system.
Performance
No matter how much we love it, after all, it’s just a concept. You can never tell whether it will ever make it to the roads. And the less they reveal about the performance, the more doubtful it gets. Sadly, the same is in the case of RocketMan Concept. All we know about what’s under the hood is BMW’s newly developed three-cylinder engine which will be bale to deliver a respectable mileage of 75mpg. The performance will definitely be enhanced by drag reducing tires and extremely light weight carbon body
Will it ‘Never’ Make It?
We might have disappointed you earlier, but the truth is that there are lot of speculation about the MINI Cooper RocketMan Concept actually being the seventh actual model in the Mini range. It is highly anticipated to hit the roads somewhere in 2013. If it really does, then there is no point questioning its success as the next Mini.
