Audi has several updates to their series of cars for 2009. Some of these updates are going to be more about technology or making the car “greener,” but the fact is they will be updates you don’t want to miss.
2009 Audi A3: The first update is the A3. The A3 will have a different look on the front and rear. You can also expect the drive train to have more control with a new system that is more like the TT or R8 Audi models. The A3 will have a 4 cylinder engine, which means it lacks some power other compact vehicles offer. The good news is leather seats, audio jacks for equipment, and satellite radio is being added. The A3 model also comes with the new technology for headlights in the Xenon construction. If you want a sunroof or even rear window shade you definitely have that option in the new model.
2009 Audi A4: Audi’s A4 series is also getting an upgrade. The A4 or TTS Cabriolet is a definitely luxury car with a powerful look. The Cabriolet is a convertible model with two doors and backseats. The front end of the A4 is mid- sized. The boot unfortunately lacks a great deal of space. Like most convertibles it has enough for luggage needs, but doesn’t allow for a lot of storage. 2009 Audi A4 gas mileage is expected to get a increase with an average of 25 mpg up from 22 mpg.
2009 Audi Cabriolet: The first time Audi announced the Cabriolet was in the UK in 2006. They are bringing it back to the UK with updates to the engine in four options. You have the 1.8 TDI petrol engine. This will have 163 horsepower. There is the 2.0 petrol engine with 200PS, 3.2 V6 with 255PS, and a 2.0 140PS.
The chassis of the Cabriolet has been changed to be stronger to offer more control and a top performance on curves. The 2.0 liter engine starts at 46,000 dollars. For a basic package you can expect this vehicle to be a little less, for example if you don’t go for the updates in technology or leather seats.
Nothing has yet to be confirmed regarding diesel engines; however Audi is considering offering diesel technology for many of their models. The A6, A5, Q7, and R8 may be offered with diesel engines in 2009 or 2010. They will still retain their normal engine size. The diesel option is just to make the car more fuel efficient.
2010 Audi S4: Right now though the S4 is another car with a few updates set to be released in 2010. This model will have a 3 liter turbo engine. It will also be a V6 model rather than V8. It should have 333 horsepower with more torque. It has been tested already for speed from a stopped position to 60mph. The tests showed 5.1 seconds is all it will take.
