2008 Dodge Challenger Concept
Posted by admin on 14 Jan 2006

2008 Dodge Challenger Concept is sure a heritage design with much resemblance with 1970 Challenger R/T. However, the present model is quite different in some aspects. The car is going to come with a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 engine with six-speed manual transmission. The car is based on rear-wheel-drive LX platform used for the Charger sedan and Magnum wagon.
During the design of the car, 1970 Challenger was actually present in the studio as said by Micheal Castiglione, principal exterior designer. 2008 Dodge Challenger Concept has 116-inch wheelbase, which is which is 6 inches longer then the 1970 model. The width for the car is also greater then 2 inches which gives it better and tougher look. To have a wider look for the front and the backend, the front and the rear tracks in increased by 64 and 65 inches respectively.
Rumors suggest that 392 Hemi crate engine could go well with Dodge Challenger body. 392 Hemi crate engine is primarily a racing engine and it’s not a production design however a lower version for the engine could be made and could come with the new Challenger. The starting price on the 2008 Dodge Challenger is expected to be around $28,000.

thats going to be one AWSOME FUCKING CAR!!!!!!!! O YEAH
This vehicle just goes to show that the original car has timeless lines.
An added R/T option with a supercharged engine would be a great idea.
But, you do have to wonder what the hell they were thinking to make the Charger a 4 door sedan. And then they added the R/T option to that. Bad idea.
New Challenger: GREAT IDEA
This is an awesome car. Good job making it look like the older ones. Hopefully more company’s will strive to make them look like the Classics, instead of making them look like space ships. The new mustangs look like Crap and the new Camaro concept don’t even look like a Camaro…. Good job on this one guys….
P.S. Word of advice… Don’t bring out new Chevelles, You can’t replicate a classic Chevelle. Chevelles were the last of the REAL American muscle cars. Don’t take a chance at making them suck.
