2011 Honda Ridgeline: Pickups Go Green
Posted by admin on 22 Dec 2009
The world is going green and it is no surprise that Honda is one of the auto companies leading the way in the auto industry. Case in point is the 2011 Honda Ridgeline, which keeps the features of the truck, while making it a greener vehicle for those who want to save money and the environment at the same time.
The 2011 Honda Ridgeline has a 3.5 liter, V6 engine that can reach 255 horsepower, along with a five-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to the five-speed transmission, the Honda Ridgeline has excellent fuel economy. It has been rated at 16 miles per gallon in the city, and 21 miles per gallon on the highways, making it one of the most fuel-efficient trucks out there that are not classified as hybrids.
The 2011 Honda Ridgeline also has cruise control, a great stereo system, remote keyless entry, two-speed intermittent windshield wipers, power moon-roof and a rear bench seat.
Safety is also big for the 2011 Honda Ridgeline. The truck features ABS, traction control, as well as lap and shoulder belts for all the seating positions, as well as front and rear side curtain airbags. There are also multi-stage front airbags and brake assist in this model.
Unlike many ‘green’ trucks, the Honda Ridgeline does not sacrifice cargo space. The vehicle has a five-foot long cargo bed that can haul some pretty tough loads. Overall, this gives the 2011 Honda Ridgeline a very nice profile. Another big plus with the cargo bed is that the wheel arch is non-intrusive, giving extra room on each side to fit in items that don’t always conform to wheel arches. The cargo box has a ladder-style frame that is highly durable and can bear a lot of weight.
Strictly speaking, the 2011 Honda Ridgeline is a step up for trucks that need to be heavy duty but also need good fuel economy. Now it is possible to go green with the power of a pick up truck.
