Two years down the road, the Ford truck line will look a bit different if any of the rumors coming out of Detroit can be believed. While Ford is working to make itself a vehicle maker of the future, there is expected to not only be some amazing trucks coming out of Ford, but trucks that are good for the environment as well.
The 2012 Ford Ranger will be coming out in both regular and crew-cab versions, and will be larger than the other Rangers that have been sold in the United States. The 2012 Ford Ranger will have a 1.6 liter four-cylinder direct injection turbo EcoBoost Engine that can produce 175 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. In regards to the EcoBoost engine, it is designed to give both power and torque, but will have 20 percent better fuel efficiency and 15 percent reduced greenhouse emissions than previous versions of ford truck engines. This is a common feature in 2012 Ford trucks.
Another big truck in the line of 2012 Ford trucks is the 2012 Ford F-150. The Ford F-150 will use a twin-turbo, 3.7 liter V6 EcoBoost gasoline direct injection engine for most varieties. However, there will also be a 6.2 liter Boss V8 engine model and a 4.4 liter V8 diesel model for the 2012 F-150. The overall look of the Ford F-150 will also be more aerodynamic and will have better gas mileage than its predecessors.
One very interest 2012 Ford truck is the Ford F-250 Super Chief, which is a car that was first introduced at the North American International Auto Show in 2006. It is considered to be the future of pickup trucks. It carries a supercharged aspiration and induction engine that comes with 20 valves and is hydrogen-powered. Models that are powered on gasoline and ethanol are also being released.
