Every time you go to gas pump do you feel that the gas prices you are paying is putting a hole in your pocket. Have you ever thought of getting a car, which will give you a better mileage and thus put less pressure on your purse? If not, think about it once. You are not only going to save money but would be helping your country and environment as well.

Hybrid vehicles use gasoline internal combustion engine and an electric motor powered by battery. Due to use of this technology, hybrid cars have better mileage then an average gasoline powered car.

Gasoline or diesel vehicles add greenhouse gases and thus are very harmful for environment. They add harmful carbon dioxide to the environment. These greenhouse gases ensnare heat and thus warm the earth preventing large portion of infrared radiation from escaping to space.

Dependence on foreign oil could be greatly reduced if more and more hybrid or fuel-efficient cars are brought. Every time a person in US fills gas in his car, he should remember that half from the total gas filled is imported. 20 barrels of oil is utilized every day in United States in which 2/3 is used for transportation. Fuel imports is equal to whooping $2 billion a week.

It is high time to switch over to hybrid cars for more then gas prices.Total of 43,435 vehicles were sold in US last year. There is a huge demand for hybrid cars which could be found for long queue at dealers who lack stock to meet the demand.

California Governor Schwarzenegger is planning a "hydrogen highway network plan" that includes the installation, before 2010, of hydrogen fuel stations on the Golden State's most important motorways.

"Bigger is better" but they leave a hole in your pocket, environment... If you drive 15,000 miles a year the fuel cost for a large SUV would be $2,600 where as for a smaller car it would be around $1900 and for hybrid cars $600.
